Shrimp Alfredo – A Cozy Weeknight Dinner You’ll Love

Let’s talk about a dinner that feels a little fancy… but is actually super easy to whip up on a busy weeknight.

This creamy shrimp Alfredo has become one of my go-to meals when I want something comforting, delicious, and quick to clean up after. I’m all about keeping it simple in the kitchen—especially when homeschooling and mama life are already full to the brim—and this recipe does just that without sacrificing flavor.

It’s rich, flavorful, and tastes like something you’d order at a nice little restaurant, but it comes together in about 30 minutes right at home. The creamy sauce paired with seasoned shrimp and pasta is just chef’s kiss. Plus, my whole crew loved it (and that’s always a win when you’re cooking for littles!).

So if you need a dinner idea that’s easy on time but big on comfort, this is it.

Easy Shrimp Alfredo Recipe

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 1 box penne pasta
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated dry Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup milk (I used whole milk, but any will do)
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled & deveined)
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and any other seasoning you like
  • Optional: a touch of butter or olive oil for cooking the shrimp

How to Make It:

  1. Cook your pasta according to the package directions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the shrimp over medium heat with a little butter or oil. Season well—I used garlic powder, salt, pepper, and a pinch of paprika. Cook until pink and opaque, then remove from the pan.
  3. In the same skillet, add the cream cheese and milk over low heat. Stir gently until the cream cheese is fully melted and smooth.
  4. Add the Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce is creamy and blended.
  5. Toss in the cooked pasta and shrimp and stir everything together until it’s all coated in that creamy goodness.
  6. Serve immediately—and maybe top with a little more Parmesan if you’re feeling fancy!
